Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why choose Ballroom dancing?
A. All dancing is beneficial in promoting coordination and skills, but Ballroom has the added benefit of promoting social and etiquette mannerisms that will be used on and off the dance floor.

Q. What age is good to begin?
A. Any age can learn how to appreciate movement, music, and dance. Typically a structured Ballroom/Latin class where the child is independent of mommy or daddy begins around age three.

Q. What dances will my child learn in ballroom/Latin?
A. Your child will learn the fundamentals of the basic Ballroom and Latin dances; Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Swing, Salsa, and Paso Doble.

Q. What clothing or items does my child need?
A. Girls and boys should wear clothing that is non-restrictive and comfortable. Ballroom or Latin shoes may be bought, but are not necessary for beginning classes. Girls should come to class with their hair tied in a ponytail or bun if possible. A neat and clean appearance is a plus.
